Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Houston McCoin of Birmingham, died Sunday, September 11, 2011. Born on September 7, 2011, he is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Morgan McCoin; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Shield Hassinger of Birmingham and Mrs. Jerry Rudolph McCoin of Nashville, TN; great-grandmother, Mrs. Richard Hooker Poellnitz of Greensboro, AL; aunts and uncles, Augusta Cobbs Hassinger of Birmingham, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rudolph McCoin, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. James Patrick McCoin and cousin, Catherine Ann McCoin, all of Nashville. In his short life, Houston left an inspired legacy of courage for friends and family. A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Tuesday September 13, 2011 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel on Tuesday September 13, 2011 from 12-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to The Crippled Children's Foundation, 2019 Fourth Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203 or the St. Vincent's NICU, 2800 University Boulevard, Suite 304, Birmingham, AL 35233.
